The airplane shown above is Convair QF-106 and its official nick name
is
'Delta Dart'. There are also other nick name such as 'Six',
'Homeboy'
and 'Ghost'. QF-106s are operated as pilotless target drones,
which
means remote controlled flight. Propane burners under wing pylons are
used
to provide infra-red sources for heat-seeking missiles.
